Roy Goodroe

Walter Roy Goodroe, age 83, of 1358 Vienna Highway, Hawkinsville, died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at his son's residence in Midland, Georgia.

Born in Unadilla, he was the son of the late James Butler Goodroe and Annie Louise Peavy Goodroe.  He retired from Robins Air Force Base after a 30-plus year career as an accountant with the F-15 program.  Roy was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and church treasurer.

Survivors include:
Wife:  Marilyn H. Goodroe of Hawkinsville

Son:  Jason Goodroe (Kristie) of Midland

Daughter-in-law:  Tina Goodroe of Perry

Brother:  John Robert Goodroe (Debra) of Unadilla

Grandchildren:  Cory Goodroe, Cole Goodroe, Sarah Gahnstrom (Chris) and Nyssa Goodroe

Great Grandchild:  Elias Gahnstrom

He was preceded in death by his son, Justin Goodroe and his brothers, Willie Joe Goodroe and Hinton Goodroe.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, March 2 in Harmony Baptist Church with interment at Walnut Cemetery in Unadilla.

The family will greet friends  1 - 3 PM Saturday, March 2 at the church.
