R. W. McWhorter

R. W. McWhorter, age 91, of  Unadilla, died Friday, July 21, 2023, at The Church Home in Fort Valley.

Born in Unadilla, he was the son of the late Willie Joe McWhorter and Eunice Adams McWhorter.  He was a United States Air Force veteran and retired from Robins Air Force Base.  R. W. was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla, the Charles Speight Sunday School Class and served as a Trustee and a Deacon.  He was also a member of the Unadilla Lions Club and the Coffee Club.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Bowen McWhorter.

Linda Quick (Ronnie) of Pineview

Son:  Tim McWhorter (Cindy) of Bonaire

Sister:  Margie Evans of Thomaston

Grandchildren:  Heather Williamson (Mike), Cassie Whiggum (Andrew), Matthew Wolfe (Sarah), Shelby Wolfe and Jacob Quick

Great Grandchildren:  Camden Williamson, Cali Grace Williamson, Luke Whiggum, Livy Whiggum, Chaney Kate Williamson and Eliana Ahart

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday, July 24 in First Baptist Church of Unadilla with interment in Walnut Cemetery.  Rev. Tommy Daniels will officiate.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
