Neal Pope

Neal Pope, age 70, of 100 Coronation Drive, Bonaire, died Friday, July 16, 2021, at his residence.

Born in Vienna, he was the son of the late John Alvin Pope and Ila Mae Youngblood Pope.  He retired from Robins Air Force Base and then operated Clearview Lawn Care.  Neal loved sports.  He loved playing baseball and softball and he was a loyal Georgia Bulldogs fan.  Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  Neal was a Baptist.

He is survived by the love of his life, Gayle Frazier of Bonaire; his daughter, April Jackson, her husband, Carey and their son, Caleb Jackson; his son, Joey Pope, his wife Stephanie, and their children, Chase Smith, Denim Lovett, Tyleranne Pope, Aubrie Pope and Zoey Pope; his daughter, Angela Cross and her children, Mary Katherine Cross and Chloe Cross; his step-daughter, Amy Thomas and her children, James Lumley and Stephanie Morgan; his sisters, Johnnye Godfrey of Perry and Nina Forehand of Unadilla; 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Pope and Edward Pope.

No services will be held.

The family will greet friends 6- 8 pm Tuesday, July 20 at the funeral home.  In honor of Neal's loyal support of the Georgia Bulldogs, everyone attending should wear red and black if possible.
