Merry Nell (Dorminey) Williams

Merry Nell Williams, age 82, of Pinehurst, died Wednesday, April 21 at Summerhill Nursing Center in Perry.

Born in Pinehurst, she was the daughter of the late John A. "Lonnie" Dorminey and Ora Smith Dorminey.  After graduating high school, she married Leon Williams and worked at Robins AFB for several years.  Later, she left the base to raise her children and was a great homemaker.  She enjoyed cooking. spending time with her family and friends and listening to gospel music.  She was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church, attended Sunday School and sang in the choir.

Survivors include:
Daughter:  Tammy Cross (Royce) of Pineview

Son:  Heath Williams of Cochran

Sister:  Myrtle Fountain (Pete) of Pinehurst

Grandchildren:  
Jared Cross (Kelli) of Unadilla
Lindsey Cross of Hawkinsville
Hunter Williams of Hawkinsville

Great Grandchildren:  Camryn Cross, Cate Cross, Hank Cross, Finn Gordon and Folsom Gordon

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Leon Williams.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 24 in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Dykes and Rev. Joe Daniel officiating.
