In 1965, he received his Doctorate in Pharmacy from the Southern School of Pharmacy in Atlanta (now the Mercer University College of Pharmacy). Over the following decades, he held positions at Briarlake Pharmacy in Tucker, Georgia, and Oak Grove Pharmacy in Decatur, Georgia, where he established many loyal long-time customers. Beginning in 2002, Larry and his beloved wife Faye co-owned and operated Briarcliff Pharmacy / Personal Touch Hallmark with their dear friends Bobby and Vivian Harrell, retiring in 2016. Larry was also a longstanding member of the Georgia Pharmacy Association, serving on many committees over the years, and in 2016 the association presented him with a special award for “Fifty Years of Dedicated Service to Pharmacy”. Larry loved his work, providing personal service to his customers, and he was well-known by all for his friendly smile and his hearty laugh, as well as his trustworthy professionalism. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, birdwatching, listening to music, and watching sports, especially his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Larry was also a member of Tucker First United Methodist Church.
