Joyce W. (Walters) Smith

Joyce W. Smith, age 87, of 701 East 27th Avenue, Cordele, died Thursday, September 24, 2020, at her residence.

Born in Ocilla, she was the daughter of the late Carl Vinson Walters and Alda Paulk Walters.  She taught school for many years at J. S. Pate Elementary and Blackshear Trail Elementary in Cordele.  Mrs. Smith enjoyed cooking, sewing and quilting but her passion was playing bridge.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cordele.

Son:  Jeff Smith (Teresa) of Cordele

Sister:  June NeSmith (Doyle) of Lyons

She was preceded in death by her sons, James Calvin "Jim" Smith, III and John Alan Smith; her sisters, Myrtle Meeks and Lullene Hancock; her brothers, Lorie Walters and Emory Walters.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September 26 in Vienna City Cemetery.
