Henry S. Giles, age 60, of 806 Highway 26 East, Elko, died Saturday, June 20, 2020, at his residence.
Born in Hawkinsville, he was the son of the late Billy Giles and Joyce Owen Giles. He was a skilled craftsman and owned and operated Raines Glass Company in Perry until his retirement in 2006. He was a lover of all things music and was an accomplished guitarist and songwriter in his own right. Led Zeppelin was his favorite band and "Stairway to Heaven" his favorite song. In fact, his daughter’s name was inspired by the Zeppelin song, "Misty Mountain Hop." Henry was a kind soul and brought an energy and enthusiasm to conversations like few others — a trait he inherited from his mother Joyce. Many of those conversations would turn to his daughter Misty, who was the pride and love of his life. He also was a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. He took pride that he lived life on his own terms.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Misty Giles of Washington, DC
Sister: Dottie Forehand of Vienna
Brothers:
Tommy Giles of Vienna
Bill Giles of Brunswick
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlyne.
