Dolores E. (Langley) Sparrow

Dolores E. Sparrow, age 85, of Ocala, Florida, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

She was a former personnel manager at Portal in Hawkinsville and was also a past president, vice president, and secretary of the Hawkinsville Business and Professional Women’s Club.  After receiving her Masters Degree from Macon State College in August of 1992 and earning her Ph.D. in March of 1998, she became an assistant professor at Macon State College in the Department of Learning Support/Development Studies.  Dolores was devoted to helping students with special needs succeed at the collegiate level.

Dolores thoroughly enjoyed painting, with Bob Ross being one of her favorite artists. She also enjoyed creating and baking healthy desserts for her family and friends.

She was an active member of the Ocala West United Methodist Church, where she truly enjoyed being part of the choir.

Half-sister:  Christine Langley (Richard Ness) of Yelm, WA

Grandchildren:  8

Nephews:  2

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin E, Sparrow, Jr., her son-in-law, Patrick N. Bowling and her step-brother, Scott Langley.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, October 4 in Perry Memorial Gardens where she will be entombed beside her husband.
