David S. Brannen, age 57, of 3264 Lower River Road, Montezuma, died Friday, April 1, 2022, at his residence.
Born in Hawkinsville, he was the son of late Major H. Brannen and Emily Smith Brannen. David was a farm manager for Wilder Lands, Inc. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and if you ever had a conversation with him, you would probably think he was a philosopher, too. He will be remembered by the quality deer and forest he helped establish and protect and the gorgeous landscapes of the Flint River swamp.. David was constantly learning and teaching. He made sure people knew the need for conservation and deer herd management. None of his knowledge was learned by accident. He dedicated his entire life to conservation, the forest, animals and his family. He loved his family as tall as the timber, as deep as the ocean and as big as the sky.
