Dana T. (Tharpe) Herring

Dana T. Herring, age 63, of 5595 Highway 41 North, Vienna, died Thursday, March 24, 2022, at her residence.

Born in Vienna, she was the daughter of the late Erastus Tharpe and Pauline Ratterree Tharpe.  Dana dedicated her life to children.  She worked at Collins Day Care for many years, then provided day care services in her home before spending the last 20 years at Nutt's About Kids in Pinehurst.  Dana truly loved children and over the years, provided care to literally hundreds of them.  She lived her life through faith, family and kids.  Dana was a member of Lilly Baptist Church.

Survivors include:
Husband:  Dale Herring of Vienna

Son:  Chris Herring of Vienna

Sister:  Jeanette Parker (Wendell) of Byron

Brother:  James Tharpe of Unadilla

Niece:  Nikki Hamsley of Vienna

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jana Tharpe Beavers, Susan Tharpe Wise, Chuck "Peanut" Tharpe and Wanda Tharpe Coleman.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, March 27 in Lilly Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chris Hurt officiating.

The family will greet friends 5 - 7 PM Saturday, March 26 at the funeral home.
