Joseph G. "Chip" Dunn, Jr., age 52, of 310 Forrest Avenue, Savannah, died Thursday, October 12, 2023, at his residence.
Chip was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 26, 1970 to Sally Woodward Griffin and the late Joseph G. Dunn. He was a veteran of the US Army Infantry and an accomplished musician. After graduating from high school in Orange Park, Florida, served his country at home and in Germany. While in Germany, he pursued his passion for travel and used his time off visiting many European countries where he made lifelong friends. He later joined a group of musicians on tour in several cities in Switzerland and Austria.
After returning to the United States, he graduated from college in Atlanta and continued to play bass guitar for local bands while working in the field of electronics. Chip always loved animals and had learned to train hunting dogs while living in Georgia. Using that training, he worked for Turkey Creek Plantation until he moved to Savannah in 2020.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph G. Dunn; his step-father, William H. Griffin, Jr.; his brother, Gregory Dunn; his maternal grandparents, Henry and Ruth Woodward; his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Iris Dunn.
Chip will always be remembered as a loving son and brother with a passion for music and animals.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Monday, October 16 in Vienna City Cemetery with Rev. Graylen Hall officiating.
The family will greet friends 12:30 - 1:30 PM Monday, October 16 at the funeral home.
