Obituary
Carl Nelson, age 82, of 1646 St. John’s Road, Unadilla, died Monday, February 20, 2023, at his residence.
Born in Unadilla, he was the son of the late J. A. "Slim" Nelson and Maude Edwards Nelson. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of Pope City Baptist Church. In his spare time, enjoyed farming and fishing.
Survivors include:
Wife of 60 years: Mary Ann Nelson of Unadilla
Son: Carl Edward "Eddie" Nelson, Jr. (Molly) of Unadilla
Daughter: Kim McLendon (Travis) of Hawkinsville
Sister: Annie Maude Nelson of Unadilla
Grandchildren:
April Holmes (Alex)
Spencer Nelson (Julie)
Dustin McLendon (Macy)
Makayla Heath (Alex)
Conner McLendon
Great Grandchildren: 8
He is also survived by his faithful companions, his dogs, Rascal and Jaxon
His brother, Bobby Gene Nelson, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, February 23 in County Line Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, February 22 at the funeral home.
