Betty (Dunaway) Bowen

Betty Bowen, age 88, of 355 McWhorter Street, Unadilla, died Friday, January 27, 2023, at Bryant Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cochran.

Born in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late J. T. Dunaway and Eula Cole Dunaway.  Betty was a retired beautician.  She was a faithful member of Unadilla United Methodist Church until her health prevented her from attending.  She taught the Martha Beulah Sunday School Class, was a member of the Juanita Brannen Friendship Circle and received the Quiet Disciple Award.  Betty loved her family and her Lord and will be fondly remembered for her excellent baking skills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jack Bowen and her sister, Boots Sparrow.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, January 29 in Unadilla United Methodist Church.  The family will greet friends after the service before going to Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery for the interment.  Rev. Clyde Evans will officiate.
