Barbara Pauline Harris, age 88, of Americus, passed away peacefully at the Lillian Carter Nursing Center in Plains on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
Born in Barnesville, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Claude Wilson and Maurine Rogers Wilson and spent some of her early years in New York with her Aunt Gladys. In 1952, she married the love of her life, David Hamsley. Barbara retired from Robins Air Force Base. She enjoyed cooking and reading but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved her daughter, Debra, her grandchildren, her sister and her nieces and nephews with all her heart.

Barbara was looking forward to the arrival of her newest great great grandchild, Colter Britt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hamsley and her brothers, McClarin Wilson and James Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Tuesday, June 6 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home with interment in Haynesville First Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
