Zena G. Causey

May 31, 1908 — March 1, 2008

Zena Causey, of 205 North Sixth Street, Vienna, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at her residence.

Born in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late James Garner, Sr. and Narcissus Cummings Garner. She graduated from Georgia State College for Women and taught school in Crisp and Dooly Counties. She was a lifelong Methodist but faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Vienna with her husband, George Morgan Causey, who died in 1984. Mrs. Causey was a longtime member of the Vienna Garden Club and a charter member of the Vienna Womans Club.

Daughter: Jan Peavy (Oscar) of Pinehurst

Brother: Warren E. Garner (Maude) of Clemson, SC

Grandchildren: Michael Causey (Kameron) of Vienna
Wynn Bakke (Pete) of Smyrna
Christy Moore (Scott) of Elko
Mark Peavy (Kristy) of Pinehurst

Great Grandchildren: 6

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Monday in Vienna City Cemetery.

The family may be contacted at the residence of John and Lady Causey, 6430 Highway 41 North, Vienna.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fullington Academy Learning Center, PO Drawer B Pinehurst, GA 31070, to American Cancer Society, c/o Laura Woodward, 505 Old Americus Road, Vienna, GA 31092 or to United Hospice, 708 E. 16th Avenue, Cordele, GA 31015.
