Wilma Ruth Faircloth Tippett, age 97, of the Tippettville Community, Dooly County died Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry after a brief illness.
Born in Wilcox County, she was the daughter of the late Obie Eslie Faircloth and Carrie Belle Warren Faircloth. She was a graduate of Valdosta State College. She taught school for 56 years. She retired from the Dooly County School System after 35 years and taught an additional 21 years at Fullington Academy where she was named STAR teacher.
Mrs. Tippett loved her church, her family, her many students, her flowers and her dogs of which she rescued many over the years. She is survived by her dog, Lou and was preceded in death by her faithful lab, Molly, who followed her to church, waited outside during the service and came down the aisle to meet her at the piano after the service.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Terese Faircloth and Dorothy Faircloth Trabulsy her brother, Loomis Faircloth and her husband of 63 years, Malcolm Bennett Tippett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 6 in Tippettville Baptist Church with interment in Tippettville Cemetery.
The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Friday, December 5 at the funeral home.
