Willie E. Hamsley

Willie E. Hamsley, age 90, of 560 East Railroad Street, Unadilla, died Sunday, August 10, 2025, at his residence.

Born in Elko, he was the son of the late Melvin G. Hamsley and Alice Glenn Hamsley.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 26 years and was a veteran of the Korean War.  Following his military service, he worked at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska for over 15 years.  Willie loved playing music, hunting, fishing and gardening.  Above all, he was dedicated to his family.  He was a devoted caregiver to his wife as her health declined over the past few years and he was very proud of his sons and his grandchildren.  Willie was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla.

Graveside services will be held at noon Monday, August 18 in Walnut Cemetery with Rev. Robbie Passmore and Rev. Mark Grinsted officiating.

The family will greet friends 3 - 5 pm Sunday, August 17 at the funeral home.
