William T. "Bill" Claxton, age 80, of Perry, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in a Macon hospital.
Born in Swainsboro, "Daddy Bill," as he was affectionately known, was the son of the late Henry Joseph Claxton and Jenny Lou Sheppard Claxton. He was a longtime resident of Pinehurst where he had served on the city council. During his many years in Pinehurst, he was a faithful member of Pinehurst Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, taught Sunday School for 37 years and led the singing for 37 years. After moving to Perry, he became a member of First Baptist Church of Perry. During WWII, he served in the Army Air Corps.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 19 in Pinehurst Baptist Church. Rev. Freddy Hogg and Rev. Rick Parker will officiate and interment will follow in Pinehurst City Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6 - 8 PM Friday, March 18 at the funeral home.
