Willard Stewart Morrow, II, better known as "Stu" died Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at his residence.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Willard Morrow and Georgiana Fawcett Morrow. He graduated from Oliver High School and Waynesburg College. He also attended the Carnegie Mellon Institute.
Of all the things Stud did in his life, as a volunteer for the ambulance squad and fire department in Irondequoit, New York, or as a manager at Xerox, or Berry Citrus in Florida, he was most proud of his children and grandchildren.
He was an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church USA. He served on the Board of Directors of Waynesburg College and the Presbyterian Home in Ft. Myers, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Hunter Morrow. He is also survived by a daughter, Susan Morrow Fournier (Herve) of Switzerland; two sons, Willard Stewart Morrow, III (Brenda) of Florida and James Hunter Morrow (Andrea) of Florida.
His grandchildren are Dr. Ian Fournier, Zachary Fournier, PFC, James Hunter Morrow, Emilie Fournier, Brynn Morrow, Brett Morrow and Willard Stewart Morrow, IV.
Stu retired in February of 2006 and he and Marilyn came to Vienna to enjoy their retirement. Hurricane chased them from Ft. Myers to seek the safety and solitude of Vienna. He enjoyed the historically preserved homes here. In July, he became ill with a cancer and praised the wonderful church family of Vienna United Methodist Church for their constant support through his final, difficult days.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 20 in Vienna United Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Smith will officiate.
The family may be contacted at 400 Church Street, Vienna.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vienna UMC, 313 Church Street, Vienna, GA 31092 or to Crisp Regional Hospice, 906 North Fifth Street Cordele, GA 31015.
