Wayne H. Tharpe

Wayne H. Tharpe, age 68, of Henderson died Monday, October 19, 2015, at his residence.
Born in Perry, he was the son of the late Aaron Tharpe and Frances Sullivan Tharpe. Wayne was a member of Henderson Baptist Church, loved animals and enjoyed fishing. He retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections. Wayne was very passionate about the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry. As a corrections officer, he enjoyed taking inmates to work at the fairgrounds. Wayne was also a former member of the Jaycees.

Daughter: Brandi Roberson (Bryant) of Durham, NC
Sisters:
Faye Sparrow (William) of Pinehurst
Judy Barfield (Johnie) of Henderson
Brother: Bobby Tharpe of Henderson
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Jo Barfield Tharpe.
Graveside services will be at 11 AM Thursday, October 22 in Henderson Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, October 21 at the funeral home.
