Walter Edward "Ed" Posey, age 96, of Unadilla, died Monday, April 3, 2006, in Perry Hospital.
Born in Bleckley County, he was a retired farmer, a former tax assessor in Dooly County and a former Dooly County Commissioner. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla and was preceded in death by his wives, Dollie C. Posey and Atha B. Posey and by a son, Darrell Posey.
Survivors include:
Grandsons: Dennis Posey (Amelia) of Unadilla
David Posey(Denise)of Perry
Ronnie Posey (Mary Vaughan) of Clearwater, FL
Daughter-in-law: Gaynelle Posey of Unadilla
Great Grandchildren: 5
Great Great Grandchildren: 1
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 6 in First Baptist Church of Unadilla. Rev. Fred Swann will officiate and burial will follow in Walnut Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6- 8 PM Wednesday, April 5 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 250 Unadilla, GA 31091.
