Walter Hamilton Brannen, age 93, of Borum Street, Unadilla, died Friday, July 23, 2004, in a Montezuma, Georgia, hospital.
Born in Houston County, he was the son of the late John Henry Brannen and Mae Kersey Brannen and a retired farmer. He was a longtime member of County Line Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, a former chairman of the board of Deacons, and a former Sunday School Superintendent.
Survivors include:
Wife: Ola Mae Bumpus Brannen of Unadilla
Children: Betsy Brannen Griffin of Montezuma
Dr. Walter Gerald Brannen of North Carolina
Ray Hamilton Brannen of Macon
Royce Calvin Brannen of Unadilla
Sister: Johnnie Brannen Ragan of Henderson
Brother: Edsel Brannen of Troutville, VA
Grandchildren: 14
Great Grandchildren: 11
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 26 in County Line Baptist Church. Rev. Olin Hamlin and Rev. Danny Powers will officiate and burial will follow in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery.
The family will recieve friends from 7 - 9 PM Sunday, July 25 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to County Line Baptist Church c/o Thelma Borum, Route 1 Box 1 Unadilla, Georgia 31091.
