Vivian Charlotte Jones Bonner, age 91, of Vienna, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
Born in Wilcox County on July 22, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Marion L. Jones and Naomi Bernhard Jones. She attended Middle Georgia College and Georgia College before becoming a grammar school teacher. Mrs. Bonner had lived in Vienna since her marriage in 1939.
"Miss Vivian" was a faithful member of Vienna First Baptist Church and served her Lord in many capacities. She and her beloved husband of 64 years, John Robert Bonner taught Sunday School for over 100 years combined. Mr. Bonner died in 2004.
She was a fantastic cook and loved sharing dishes made from the produce of her husband's bountiful garden and her famous "tea cakes" with her friends and family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and has left them a wonderful legacy of kindness, unselfishness and faith in God.
In her later years, Mrs. Bonner enjoyed completing the Telegraph crossword puzzle and exchanging jokes with her family and faithful caregiver, Liz Towns.
She is survived by her daughter, Marti Bonner Bloodworth (Stewart) of Perry; her grandchildren, Terri Bloodworth Smith (Glenn), Kay Bloodworth Grier (Mike), Stewart Bloodworth, Jr. (Jennifer), David Bonner (Laurie) and Elizabeth Bonner Kea (John). She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
Her son, John Lee Bonner preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 28 in Vienna First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Walnut Cemetery in Unadilla.
