Virgil Mashburn

August 25, 1931 — March 26, 2016

Littleton "Virgil" Mashburn, 84, of Largo, Florida passed away on March 26, 2016. Virgil was born August 25, 1931 in Unadilla, Georgia, a son of the late Littleton Virgil Mashburn, Sr. and Lois Giles Mashburn.

Virgil served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After the war, he was a Supervisor for J.C. Penney Company for 13 years and later a manager of Oxford Industries in Atlanta for their only retail stores. He then owned and operated "Clothing Carnival" in Unadilla, Georgia for 26 years.

He was a member of Indian Rocks Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Unadilla. Virgil and his wife, Donna, served in a RV ministry, "MMAP" and "Sowers."

He enjoyed fishing and being with people. His family remembers him as a concerned father and grandfather and a loving husband.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Donna Boswell Mashburn of Largo; 4 children, Gary Mashburn and his wife Luann of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Susan White and her husband Myron Newton of Buford, Georgia, Daven Mashburn and his wife Helen of Weston, Florida and Melisa Bodnar and her husband Dennis of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren, Kayla Devenburg, Nick Mashburn, Naomi Kirchner, Leo Bialis-White, Dave Mashburn, Emily Mashburn, Henry Mashburn, Tyler Bodnar, Kaitlyn Bodnar, Isabella Bodnar; great grand-daughters Kaylee Mashburn, Cora Devenburg, and Naomi Devenburg.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, April 2 in First Baptist Church of Unadilla. Interment with military honors will follow in Walnut Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 3 - 8 PM Friday, April 1 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranch at P.O. Box 2000 Boys Ranch, Florida 32064-9984.

Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla has charge of arrangements.
