Videne L. Lindsey

Videne Lewis Lindsey, 87, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026. 

She was born September 3, 1938, in Unadilla, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Teasley and Hazel Williams Lewis.

A dedicated mother whose life was defined by her unwavering devotion to family and her deep Christian faith, Videne was a longtime resident of the Jonesboro area and a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She found great joy in her faith and served as a steadfast witness to her loved ones through her daily life. Known as the heart of her home, she cherished celebrating family milestones, especially her children’s birthdays.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of many years, Raymond W. Lindsey, who passed away in 2005.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail Hensarling and her husband, Johnny; her sons, Steve Lindsey and Phillip Lindsey and his wife, Mindy; her sister, Judy Brannen.  Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren Jeremy Sego, Rebecca Sego, Elizabeth Hensarling, Cameron Lindsey, Evan Lindsey, and Brooklyn Lindsey. She was the proud great-grandmother of five and great-great-grandmother to one, with another great-great-grandchild expected soon. She also leaves behind a host of dear friends and relatives.

A graveside service will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, March 24 in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 1 - 2:30 PM Tuesday, March 24 at the funeral home.
