Verna K. Greer

Verna K. Greer, age 90, of Alabaster, Alabama died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at her residence.

Born in Anderson County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Paul E. T. Kay and Eva Cothran Kay. She lived in Unadilla most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla, the Fidelis Sunday School Class and retired from the Dooly County Schools where she was a dietician. Her husband, Elwyn F. Greer, preceded her in death.

Survivors include:
Daughters: Carolyn Sturdivant of Birmingham, AL
Diane Black of Lucedale, MS

Sisters: Lillian Bird of Swainsboro
Betty Willis of Honea Path, SC

Brother: Boyce Kay of Surf City, NC

Grandchildren: 3

Great Grandchildren: 4

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 4 in First Baptist Church of Unadilla. Rev. Fred Swann will officiate and interment will follow in Walnut Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 6:30 - 8:30 PM Thursday, May 3 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 250 Unadilla, GA 31091.
