Valmai B. Peavy, age 82, of 427 Third Street, Unadilla, died Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Summerhill Nursing Center in Perry.
Mrs. Peavy was born in Adelaide, Australia, to the late Henry Barnes and Lillian Wagner Barnes. She met her husband, the late Wendell Peavy, while he was serving in World War II. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla and a seamstress. Mrs. Peavy was a devoted wife and mother.

Sons: Bobby Peavy (Deborah) of Warner Robins
Leonard Peavy of Unadilla
Sister: Betty Dale (Max) of Adelaide, Australia
Brother: Leonard Barnes (Shirley) of Adelaide, Australia
Sister-in-law: Harriett Davis (Calvin) of Warner Robins
Grandchildren: 5
Great Grandchildren: 8
Her granddaughter, Erin Nicole Peavy, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Wednesday, December 16 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home with interment in Walnut Cemetery.
