Thelma (Parsons) Bowen

Thelma Bowen, age 70, of 144 Justice Road, Vienna, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele.

Born in Cordele, she was the daughter of the late Grady M. Parsons and Susie M. Lewis Parsons.  For many years, she was a waitress at All State Truck Stop in Unadilla.  She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and Nana.

Survivors include: Daughter:  Beverly Mayberry (Bill) of Perry

Son:  D. W. Goodroe (Lisa) of Ashland, AL

Step-Son:  Koby Bowen of Fitzgerald

Brothers: Donald Parsons (Glenda) of Ashland, AL Orrie Parsons of Ashland, AL Dennis Parsons of Lineville, AL Otha Parsons (Dianne) of Warwick Larry Parsons (Renee) of Ashland, AL Tim Parsons (Allisyn) of Lineville, AL Henry Parsons (Peggy) of Cordele

Grandchildren: Hailey Mayberry (Cole) Lilly Goodroe Bekah Bowen (Colby) Sheila Burgdoefer (Bailey)

Great Grandchilren:  Noah, Ivy and Quintin

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Bowen, Jr.; her brother, Ben Parsons; her sister, Lavelda Parsons; her sister-in-law, Kathy Parsons; her step-son, Kelly Bowen.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, July 4 in Vienna City Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Lewis officiating.

The family will greet friends 9 - 10 am Thursday, July 4 at the funeral home.
