Talmadge Everett

February 2, 1926 — October 3, 2011

Talmadge Everett, age 85, of Vienna, died Monday, October 3, 2011, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele.

Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late Lee Everett and Nora Bowen Everett. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Everett was a licensed funeral director and a partner in Bowen-Everett Funeral Home for many years. After he sold his interest in the funeral home, he continued working there for many years. He was also a partner in Bowen-Everett Chevrolet in Vienna. Mr. Everett also served as Postmaster in Vienna for many years.

Mr. Everett was a long-time member of Vienna First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the church choir. He was also a member of the Vienna Kiwanis Club and served as chairman of the American Red Cross for Dooly County for a number of years.

Survivors include:
Daughter: Susan Anderson (Tray) of Arden, NC

Son: Kenneth Lee Everett of Snellville

Brother: Ike Everett of Pinehurst

Grandchildren: Lee Everett, Max Everett, Emily Everett, Tabitha Anderson and Tristan Anderson

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola E. Everett and a son, Stanley Everett.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, October 5 in Vienna First Baptist Church with interment in Vienna City Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, October 4 at the funeral home.
