Sammie W. Ballard

Sammie W. Ballard, age 72, of 205 North Fifth Street, Vienna, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at his residence.

Born in Woodruff, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Thomas Ballard and Elmer Richards Ballard.  He served in the United States Air Force and worked as a manager for Forsyth Mills of Canada.  In later years, he drove a bus for DCUTS.  Sammie was a member of Vienna Church of God and served as a member of the church council.  He was also a Mason.

Daughter:  Samantha Oliver (Wayne) of Woodruff, SC

Sons: Benjie Ballard (Gena) of Woodruff, SC Brian Jobe (Lori) of Cordele

Sisters: Nancy Taylor of Woodruff,SC Shirley Waddell (Tony) of Woodruff, SC

Brothers: Eddie Ballard (Shirley) of Woodruff, SC Terry Ballard (Cheryl) of Woodruff, SC Ricky Ballard of Woodruff, SC

Grandchildren:  Casandra Henson, Julia Ballard, Jamie Ivey, Gage Oliver and Jobie Jobe

Great Grandchildren:  Sophie Lynn Henson and Kynleigh Henson

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Friday, November 1 in Vienna Church of God.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service and may be contacted at 205 North Fifth Street, Vienna.
