Memorial services for Rupert Wood, age 78, of Hawkinsville, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 5 at Tippettville Baptist Church near Vienna. Mr. Wood died Monday, June 30 at his residence. The interment was held at 4:00 PM Monday, June 30 in Tippettville Cemetery.
Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late Franklin Bivins Wood and Ruby Burnette Wood. He was a farmer, a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla and had worked for General Motors and Ford Motor Company in Detroit.
Survivors include:
Wife: Audrey Wood of Hawkinsville
Brothers: Bobby Wood of Columbus
Sisters: Effie Stewart of Rome
Connie Raper of Montezuma
Patricia Cross of Perry
The family will greet friends at the church following the service.
Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla has charge of arrangements.
