Bascom Rudolph "Rudy" Maples, age 57, of Pinehurst, died Thursday, August 12, 2010, in Moultrie.
Rudy was born in Moultrie on November 29, 1952 to Betty S. Maples and the late Serell Maples. He was active in sports and served as a class officer at Vienna High School where he graduated in 1970. Rudy graduated with honors from Georgia Southwestern College with a degree in management. He served in the United States Marine Corps with distinction and rose to a 2nd Lieutenant before he was honorably discharged in 1980. Rudy worked for several businesses during his career, including Trust Company Bank, Atlanta and 1st National Bank, Atlanta. His most recent job was with the Macon Telegraph.

Joyce Edwards of Athens
Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be at 6 PM Sunday, August 15 in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery.
