Roy Turner

Roy M. Turner, age 81, of Winter Haven, Florida, died Friday, November 13, 2020.

Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Thomas Roy Turner and Rachel Belle Hardy Turner Crisman.  He was a 1957 graduate of Plains High School, after which he served 4 years in the Army National Guard before joining the United States Navy.  He served his country with honor for 20 years before retiring.  Following his retirement, he worked as a maintenance contractor and a painter.  Roy was a member of First Baptist Church of Winter Haven.

Survivors include: Wife of 39 years:  Jean Turner of Winter Haven, FL

Sons: James Turner (Felicia) of Charleston, SC Michael Turner (Lupe) of Mission Viejo, CA

Daughter:  Morrissa Mason Turner of Winter Haven, FL

Sisters: Barbara Ann Compton (Bob) of Warrensburg, OH Janie Hall of Americus

Brother:  Harold Turner (Ruby) of Brunswick

Grandchildren:  Ephraim Turner and Elizabeth Turner

Great Grandson:  Elijah Turner

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 5 at Hebron Baptist Church, 1854, Georgia Highway 49, Americus.
