Rosella M. (Mccall) Jarvis

April 5, 1939 — August 4, 2021

Rosella M. Jarvis, age 82, of 303 Hargrove Street, Vienna, entered into the presence of her Lord on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

Born in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Duncan McCall and Rosella Brantley McCall.  She grew up in Jasper, Florida and later attended Valdosta State College, where she met her husband, A. J. Jarvis.

One of her many gifts was teaching, in which she influenced many students at various grade levels.  After earning her Doctorate in Education from the University of Central Florida, she taught English and education courses at several colleges and universities and retired from Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina.  Teaching paralleled her voracious love of reading.

Another passion of Rosella's was music.  She was an accomplished pianist and also worked vocally with many singing groups (church and school) and choirs over the years.  In earlier years, she was a requested soloist for many weddings and church cantatas.  She enjoyed many types of music, including classical, jazz and old standards, but especially praise and worship music.

She was a devoted Christian and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
