Rodney E. Nelson

Rodney E. "Chopper" Nelson, age 67, of 6313 Highway 41 North, Vienna, died Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Chopper was born in Vienna on September 6, 1958.  For over 50 years, he owned and operated Dooly Auto Parts.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and will be remembered for the tomatoes he not only grew but shared with his family and friends.  Chopper loved racing, especially NASCAR and drag racing.  

He is survived by the love of his life, Dorothy Moree of Pinehurst; his brother, Wayne Nelson (Linda) of Cordele; 2 nieces; 2 nephews; his former sister-in-law, Brenda Nelson of Conway, SC; his dog, Lacy Grace.

He was preceded in death by his father, C. L. Nelson; his mother, Betty Warren Nelson; his brother, Jerry Nelson.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 24 in Pleasant View Cemetery in Pitts.
