Robert Auby Matthews, Jr

Robert Auby Matthews, Jr., age 76, of Etheridge, Tennessee, died Saturday, March 19, 2016, at his residence.

Born in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Robert Auby Matthews and Ruby McCurry Matthews. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture/Animal Science. While a student at the University of Georgia, Mr. Matthews was a member of the UGA Livestock Judging Team and worked a year after graduation in poultry research at the university. He then worked as a county extension agent with the University of Georgia Extension Service. The remainder of his life he was a livestock producer and worked in agricultural sales and consulting, dealing with livestock nutrition and genetics.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Faye Matthews Stubbs and his brother, Mack Matthews.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 9 in Pinehurst City Cemetery.
