Reamer L. Calhoun, age 79, of Jacksonville, Florida, died Friday, December 6, 2002, in Jacksonville.
Born in Hawkinsville, Georgia, he was a US Navy pilot in World War II and continued his flying career by becoming a candidate for the Mercury Astronaut Program. After leaving the military, he became the president of East Coast Flying Service. In 1965, he moved to Jacksonville and acquired Laurie Yonge Aviation. He also founded and became the president of Air Crews and Maintenance. He retired from flying in 1985, He was the owner of Ft. George Hardware and was Senior Warden at St. George Episcopal Church for 7 years. He was an honorary member of the 'Q. B.'s.'

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 9, 2002, in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 10 at Spradley Cemetery in Unadilla, Georgia with military honors. Rev. Kammy Young will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Episcopal Church in Jacksonville.
