Peggy S. (Swymer) Peavy

Peggy S. Peavy, age 90, of 1307 Blackshear Road, Cordele, died Friday, January 19, 2024, at Crisp Regional Hospital.

Born in Rhine, she was the daughter of the late Fleet Swymer and Lucille Stillwell Swymer.  She had worked at Dooly Medical Center and also in home health care.  Mrs. Peavy loved cooking and working in her yard.  Fishing was her favorite thing to do and she would go anywhere to fish.  More than anything else, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and cherished every moment she spent with them.  She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, but had been attending Riverview Baptist Church the past few years.

Survivors include: Sons: John L. Peavy, Jr. of Cordele Tony Eugene Peavy of Sautee Marcus Timothy Peavy of Cordele Terrell Wayne Peavy (Jane) of Ashburn

Daughter:  Peggy Sue Peavy Godwin of Cordele

Grandchildren:  7 Great Grandchildren:  Several

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Peavy.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, January 23 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home with interment following in Liberty Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 5 - 7 PM Monday, January 22 at the funeral home.
