Patricia Offenberg Everidge Rigdon, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 19, 2025. Patricia was a true Southern lady known for her grace, strength, and unwavering love for her family and faith.
A lifelong resident of Dooly County, Patricia was born to Arthur and Helen Barron Offenberg. She graduated from Unadilla High School and Crandall Business College. In her younger years, Patricia was a star on the basketball court having athletic talent and a competitive spirit. That same determination followed her throughout life and she allowed these characteristics to serve her and others well. She was always a faithful and active church member throughout her life and served in many capacities such as teaching, being committee chair and member, and even helping to start churches. She was a trusted advisor and mentor to many along the way.
Patricia was a devoted wife and mother. She and her loving husband, Ronald Joe Everidge, married on November 10, 1963. They saw this as a blessing and were happily married for 38 years until his death. The couple raised two sons, Ron and Scott. They also, together, successfully began and maintained the still operational Rabbit Ridge Farms. She also served as CFO until her retirement.
Patricia became known as an incredibly good cook and homemaker. There are too many specialties to list; however, among some favorites are lacy cornbread, blonde brownies and oatmeal cookies.
She also regarded her second marriage as a blessing. Patricia married Donnie M. Rigdon on June 19, 2003, and they were happily married for 20 years until his death. Together the couple enjoyed an active faith life between themselves and were generous in their sharing this with others. Also enjoyable and important to them were family time, being in the outdoors, especially riding in the woods together, and “back porch sitting” while peacefully appreciating the pond and nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Helen Barron Offenberg; her loving husband and father of their sons, Ronald Joe Everidge.; the second love of her life, husband, Donnie M. Rigdon; her grandson, Ronald Joe Everidge, III, Tripp; her brothers, MacArthur Offenberg and Henry Offenberg.
Patricia leaves behind a legacy of tremendous faith, love of family, and care for others. She will be missed by all who knew and love her.
She is survived by her sons, Ron (Jeanna) of Pinehurst, Scott (Hillary) of Pinehurst; her grandchildren, Adam (Allie) of Perry, Brant and Brody of Pinehurst; her great grandchildren, Axel of Pinehurst and Emory of Perry. Also surviving are her siblings, Tillie Welch (Douglas) of Unadilla; John Offenberg (Judy) of Unadilla; Dana Argo (Rick) of Alabama; and brother-in law, David Everidge (Cathy) of Vienna. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Sincerest and heartfelt gratitude to her loving caregivers and bonus “sisters.” This loving group was led by Marie Leary and included Shelia Lester, Gloria Meadows, Hettie Oliver, and Willie Mae Smith. Also, thanks to Gentiva Hospice of Warner Robins for their caring and compassionate service.
Graveside services will be held at 6:30 PM Monday, September 22 at Rabbit Ridge Farms Cemetery.
The family will greet friends 4 - 8 PM Sunday, September 21 at Patricia's home, 118 Everidge Road, Pinehurst.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the church of your choice.
