Norma Jean (Dixon) Christmas

Norma Jean Christmas, age 89, of 317 Garrett Drive, Vienna, died Monday, April 3, 2023, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon.

Born in Vienna, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Dixon and Bitha Powell Dixon.  She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.  She also kept children in her home and because of her last name, one child started calling her "Santa Mama" and she she was known by that name thereafter to all the children.  Norma Jean also enjoyed the many times she spent at the Vienna Senior Center having lunch with the many friends she made there.  Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include: Daughters: Donna Mabry of Greenville, SC Debbie Thomas of Vienna Cathy Clark (Derrell) of Tallahassee, FL LaVonda Peavy of Warner Robins

Grandchildren: Erica Anorim (Alex) David Mabry Alissa Akin (Barry) Danielle Wade (Trey) Heather Schnaufer (Brent) Hayley Mann Brandon Peavy (Kasey) Emily McGregor (Brent)

Great Grandchildren:  13

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. "Buddy" Christmas.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, April 5 in Lane Cemetery with Rev. Melvin Slappy officiating.

The family will greet friends 1:30 - 2:30 PM Wednesday, April 5 at the funeral home.
