Nelle Hill Sullivan, age 81, of 4455 Nellieville Road, Pinehurst, died Sunday, January 28, 2007, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
A native of Dooly County, Mrs. Sullivan was born on January 24, 1926 to the late Bamon F. Hill and Eunice Morgan Hill of Byromville. She graduated from Byromville High School and what was then Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville with a bachelors degree in secondary education.
Mrs. Sullivan began her teaching carrer at the former Dooly High School in the Tippettville Community and later taught English, history and math at both Macon County High and Junior High Schools. She was a member of Byromville United Methodist Church where she was active in the Loyalty Sunday School Class, the TLC prayer group and United Methodist Women.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggy King and her husband, Raymond of Vienna; a son, Randy Sullivan and his wife, Charlene of Alpharetta; a brother, Bamon Lee Hill and his wife, Ruth of Byromville; two grandsons, Jason Sullivan, a student at Savannah College of Arts and Design and Jeremy Sullivan of Alpharetta and three sisters-in-law, Edna Sullivan of Byromville, Earline Smith of Warwick and Helen Clark of Orlando, FL and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 30 in Byromville United Methodist Church. Rev. Edwin Smith will officiate and interment will follow in Vienna City Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6 - 8 PM Monday, January 29 at the funeral home.
The family has requested that memorial gifts be made to Byromville UMC, PO Box 147 Byromville, GA 31007 or the charity of the donor's choice.
