Mildred Swain Cornelius

Mildred Swain Cornelius, age 92, of 2 Windsor Terrace, Avondale Estates, died Saturday, January 3, 2004, at her residence.
Born in Pinehurst, she was the daughter of the late Tom Swain and Maude Lee Peavy Swain. She taught school in Pinehurst for many years and retired from civil service as a Classification Analyst. She was a member of Avondale First Baptist Church and was the recording secretary for the Atlanta Braves 400 Club. Her daughter, Judy Cornelius, preceded her in death.

Mary Cleckley of Lawrenceville
Several nieces and nephews including Blanche Stephens and Tommy Swain of Pinehurst also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 6 at Pinehurst Baptist Church. Rev. Freddy Hogg will officiate and burial will follow in Pinehurst City Cemetery.
