John "Michael" Causey, age 60, of Vienna, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Vienna, Michael was the only son of John Causey and Lady Wynn Causey. He was a 1983 graduate of Fullington Academy and attended Valdosta State College, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management. Deeply committed to his community, Michael proudly served with the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department from 1990 until present. Michael was honored to follow in his father’s footsteps as a volunteer fireman and led the department as Fire Chief for 16 years. Michael led with quiet strength, loyalty, and professionalism, earning the respect of his peers and leaving a lasting legacy of service. Michael was also a member of Vienna First Baptist Church.
Outside of his dedication to public service, Michael found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments spent with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping — especially when it meant spending time with the ones he loved.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Kameron M. Causey. Michael and Kameron created a home filled with love, support, and unforgettable memories for their daughters, McKinley and Morgan. Michael was incredibly proud of his girls and never missed an opportunity to support them. He could always be found at their softball games, shotgun tournaments, or simply being present in every part of their lives. His girls were his pride and joy, and he loved them with his whole heart.
Survivors include his wife, Kameron M. Causey of Vienna; his daughters, McKinley Causey and Morgan Causey; his mother, Lady Causey of Vienna; his sister, Wynn Bakke (Pete) of Smyrna; and his nieces, Brittany Bakke and Addison Bakke.
He was preceded in death by his father, John S. Causey.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, at Vienna City Cemetery, with Rev. Daryl Brown and Rev. Larry Wilbanks officiating.
