Marvis C. Benson

January 28, 1921 — April 8, 2015

Marvis C. Benson, age 94, of 469 Haslam Avenue, Pinehurst, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Leisure Life in Unadilla.

Born in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late Charlton Louis Cross and Mattie Lou Nelson Cross. She was a homemaker, a lifelong member of Harmony Baptist Church and the widow of Oscar Edwin Benson.

Mrs. Benson was the pianist for the Gospel Tones Quartet and loved singing and songwriting. Above all, she was a loving and caring mother.

Marilyn Black (Anthony) of Cartersville
Glenda Welch (Vaughn) of Woodstock

Brother: Harvey Cross of Unadilla

Sister: Madine Hudson of Unadilla

Grandchildren: 6
Great Grandchildren: 7

She was preceded in death by her brother, C. V. "Bud" Cross.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 11 in Harmony Baptist Church with interment in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Friday, April 10 at the funeral home.
