Marvin Brannen, age 86, of 925 Third Street, Unadilla, died Monday, January 11, 2021 at The Oaks Nursing Center in Marshallville.
Born in Unadilla, he was the son of the late John D. "Bud" Brannen and Lucy Ransom Brannen. Marvin served his country with honor in the United States Air Force and later worked at Robins Air Force Base, Medusa Cement Company and retired from Georgia Pacific. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles, working in his yard and watching the Atlanta Braves. His daily routine started with reading the Macon Telegraph and ended with watching Wheel of Fortune.
Survivors include: Daughters: Cheryl Hamsley (Terry) of Unadilla Debra Chancy (Peppy) of Unadilla Anita Fowler (Tom) of Clearwater, FL
Sister: Dora Huff of Greenville, TX
Brothers: Linton Brannen (Latrelle) of Unadilla Kenneth Brannen (Beatrice) of Hawkinsville.
Grandchildren: Brant Hamsley Cody Chancy (Kasey McKee) Casey Chancy Brandon Fowler
Great Grandchild: Dawson Lee
Special Friend: Virginia Flournoy of Fort Valley
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Bembry Brannen and his siblings, Larry Brannen, J. E. Brannen, Carolyn Carr, Paul Brannen and Lamar Brannen.
A graveside service for family only will be held at 3 PM Thursday, January 14 at Walnut Cemetery in Unadilla with Rev. Joe Daniel officiating.
Memorial gifts may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla has charge of arrangements.
