Malcolm B. Tippett, age 95, of Vienna, died Friday, October 17, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Tippett was born in the Tippettville Community on December 24, 1912, to the late Dr. T. W. Tippett and Lucile van Landingham Tippett. He graduated from Athens High School and attended the University of Georgia where he played football and sang on his own radio program. He later returned home to Tippettville where he farmed and was a longtime member of Tippettville Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Deacons and taught the Mens Sunday School Class. Mr. Tippett served his country in WWII in the US Army Air Corps and served his community as Chairman of the Dooly County Board of Elections. He was also a member of the American Legion. His sister, Dorothy Tippett Caraker, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday in Tippettville Baptist Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Tippettville Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
