Len H. West, age 64, of 4225 Dooly High Road, Vienna, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late William Leonard West. He was a US Marine Corps veteran and served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. Mr. West was a retired Insurance Agent and a former Motorcycle Officer with the Plant City, Florida Police Department. He formerly co-owned the Vienna Cafe and R & L Auto Repair. Mr. West was a Mason and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Alene S. West of Vienna; sons, Steven Jeffrey West of Albany and Bradley Carlton West of Ohio; a daughter, Gena Lynette Anderson of Kentucky; step children, Marcus Johns of Vienna and Diane Whitaker of Vienna; mother, Juanita L. West of Plant City, FL; brothers, Anthony "Tony" West of Melbourne Beach, FL and William Douglas West of Texas; a sister, Elizabeth Boling of Bradenton, FL; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and 6 step grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 11 AM Saturday, August 1 at Waters Memorial Gardens in Steinhatchee, Florida.
The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Friday, July 31 at the funeral home.
