He was a member of Cordele First United Methodist Church and was also active in the Flint River Boat Club having served as Commodore for a period of time.

During recent years, he was able to enjoy his love of the outdoors and quail hunting by guiding hunters at area plantations and private farms. He took great pride in his dogs and their abilities and loved to have them perform in area field trials.  He was a member and supporter of Quail Forever which focuses on conservation of quail and other wildlife habitat.

In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by a son, Charles Railey Vinson; two sisters, Ella Hall and Lizanda Edwards; a brother John Hall; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Kathryn and John Gowdy, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Railey Hall; a son, Richard Hall (Lea) and grandsons, Roy and Clay of Vienna; a daughter, Sylvia Vinson Davis (Chip) and grandsons, Ivey and Railey of Camilla.  Also surviving are his brother, Mitch Hall of Cordele and sister Barbara Atkins of Statesboro, many nieces and nephews, and his loyal Boykin Spaniel, Kipper.

Throughout his years, he became acquainted with people from all walks of life and formed lasting friendships with many. Lee had the reputation for being able to do most anything and received great pleasure by helping his family, friends, and neighbors. He was known for his dancing and his cooking skills, especially his fish fries.  Lee was affectionately called “PaPa” by his 4 grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cordele First United Methodist Church, PO Box 871 Cordele, GA 31010.
