Lee H. Bailey, Jr.

Lee H. Bailey, Jr., age 85, of 815 Peavy Road, Unadilla, departed this Earth to be with his Heavenly Father on April 7, 2025.

Lee was a dedicated farmer who worked tirelessly from dawn to dusk, excelling in his trade.  As he cut back on his farming, Lee discovered a passion for growing sugar cane and hosting "Bailey Cane Days," a beloved event in Dooly County where locals enjoyed the process of making cane syrup, delicious food and plenty of country fun.  He also cherished his cows, attended livestock auctions and loved serving as the auctioneer for the annual Fall Festival at Fullington Academy.  A faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church, Lee found joy in preparing breakfast for his fellow church members, family and friends.  His generous spirit will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Bailey; his son, Bruce Bailey (Rhonda); his daughters, Rena Bledsoe (Tommy) and Leslie Gobbel (Gene); his brother, Richard Bailey (Beth); his sister, Leigh Ann Crumpton (Pat); his grandchildren, Beth Bailey Stewart (Jake), Ben Bailey (Ansley), Brandon Bailey (Caroline), Taylor Dickerson, Heather White, Will Mashburn (Cassidy), Brennan Bledsoe (Ashton), Abby Poitevint (Justin), Blair Bledsoe, Graham Gobbel and Molly Gobbel; 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Bailey, Sr. and Irene Satterfield Bailey; his son, Chip Bailey; his brother, Glen Bailey; his sister, Linda Hicks.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, April 9 in Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Don Howell officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
