Laura Mae Head

Laura Mae Ransom Head, age 77, of Unadilla, died Sunday, January 23, 2005, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele.

Born in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late Van Ransom and Jessie Lee Peavy Ransom. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla and the widow of William J. "Bill" Head, Jr. She had worked as a cashier at Bud and Bill's in Unadilla and Thriftway in Unadilla. She was a lifelong resident of Dooly County and lived the past 4 years at Leisure Life in Unadilla.

Survivors include:
Daughter: Sylvia Head Mason of Unadilla

Sons: William Jackson Head, III of Marietta
Anthony Wayne Head of McDonough

Sister: Lillian Lewis of Unadilla

Brother: Julian Ransom of Montezuma

Grandchildren: Jennifer Lauren Mason
Wesley Robert Head

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 25 in First Baptist Church of Unadilla. Dr. Bob Murphy will officiate and burial will follow in Walnut Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 5 - 8 PM Monday, January 24 at the funeral home.
